Plumbing with Purpose Knoxville Stories and Pastabilities

I want to share a little story about one of our days out in the field, which really highlights what we're all about at Friendly Neighborhood Plumber. Joe, the hands-on guy with all the plumbing skills, and me, Abi, doing the office and marketing stuff, hit the road together a couple weeks ago. It was one of those rare warm February days in Knoxville, TN, and our job took us out to a quaint farm in East Knoxville.

We were there to fix a mop sink issue for Suzanne and her partner, Thomas, at their place, Bourbon Spring Farm. Sounds simple, right? But with us, it's never just about the job. Joe sorted out their plumbing in no time, proving once again why he's such a skillful plumber. What we didn't expect was the invitation to meet their six horses, each with their own incredible story of rescue and belonging.

As Suzanne shared the journey of each horse, it struck me how much this was about more than just plumbing. It was about connection, community, and the stories that bind us. There was also this fat orange cat that seemed to adopt us as its temporary humans, and a sweet dog that lived for belly rubs. These moments, they're the essence of why we do what we do.

Suzanne and Thomas have a cool side gig too. They make homemade pasta and sell it at the Market Square Farmers Market under the name Pastabilities Pasta. Suzanne makes her pasta at the Real Good Kitchen, a place that’s all about supporting local food entrepreneurs. It's this kind of passion and community spirit that really resonates with us.

This experience is a perfect example of what Friendly Neighborhood Plumber is all about. It's not just about fixing pipes or unclogging drains. It's about the people we meet, the stories we share, and the connections we make. Every job is a chance to be part of someone's day, to offer a helping hand, and to reinforce that community feel.

So, if you or someone you know in Knoxville needs a plumber, think of us. Joe and I, we're here to help with your plumbing needs, but we're also here to be a part of the community, one story at a time. It’s these moments that remind us why we started Friendly Neighborhood Plumber.
